›What is MACHYN?
MACHYN is AI filmmaking. Story to finished film.
You control story, approvals, and edit decisions. MACHYN handles generation and assembly.
If you want to test the workflow, start with Intro and run a small project end to end.
›Who is MACHYN for?
Filmmakers who can make decisions and finish projects.
If you want a toy, MACHYN will feel cold. If you want speed and control, it will feel normal.
›Is MACHYN a one click movie button?
No. It is a pipeline.
You decide what the film is. The system produces options fast. You approve what moves forward.
Workflow
›What is the MACHYN pipeline?
Story, screenplay, characters, locations, production, post, export.
Everything is designed to move forward without re doing the same work.
›How much do I control vs AI?
You control the creative direction, selections, and approvals.
AI handles generation and iteration. You decide what becomes canon.
›Can I regenerate only one step?
Yes. You can iterate per asset and per step.
Run the parts you need, keep the parts you like.
Models
›Why don’t you support Sora, Kling, Seedance, Wan, Hailuo, and others?
MACHYN is image to video first. Every shot starts with an approved reference image.
If a model cannot do reliable image to video, it breaks the consistency pipeline.
Some models also fail on normal human references due to filter behavior. That is a technical incompatibility, not a philosophy.
›How do you decide what models to add?
Popularity is not the criteria.
If a model supports real image to video and works reliably with realistic character references, it gets evaluated.
If it fits the pipeline, it gets added.
Uploads
›Can I upload a script?
Yes. Upload .fdx, .fountain, or .txt. You can also paste text directly.
If parsing fails, use .txt and keep formatting simple.
›Do you support drag and drop for scripts?
Yes. Drag and drop is supported.
If a file is stubborn, paste the text.
›Can I upload character reference images?
Yes. Keep it under 10MB per image.
Use JPG or PNG.
›Can I upload location reference images?
Yes. Keep it under 10MB per image.
Use JPG or PNG.
›What image formats should I use?
Use JPG or PNG.
If you have something else, convert it first.
Export
›What can I export?
Video export supports MP4 and MOV.
MACHYN is fixed at 24fps.
›What resolution do exports use?
Export is 720p (aspect ratio specific sizing).
An optional upscale pass can produce higher resolution output.
›Do you export XML or EDL?
Not yet. It is planned and coming soon.
For now, export a finished video.
4K Upscale
›Do you support 4K export?
Yes. 4K is an upscale pass on top of the normal export.
It costs more credits and it takes longer. That is the trade.
Use it for final delivery, not for every test render.
›Why does 4K take so long?
Upscaling is heavy compute.
It is a second processing step after the base render.
If you need speed, export normal first, then upscale when locked.
›When should I use 4K?
Only when your cut is final and you are ready to deliver.
For iteration, 720p is faster and cheaper.
Practical workflow
- Iterate in normal export until your edit is locked.
- Run 4K upscale once, at the end.
- If you are still making decisions, do not pay the 4K tax.
Rights
›Do I own what I create?
Yes. You own your work. MACHYN takes ownership of nothing.
You are responsible for what you upload and generate.
›Can I use the output commercially?
Yes. Full commercial rights.
You own it. You are responsible for your rights and usage.
›Can I upload anything I want?
No. Do not upload content you do not have permission to use.
Do not request protected characters or celebrity lookalikes.
Billing
›How does pricing work?
Membership plus credits.
Membership gets you access. Credits pay for generation and processing across text, images, audio, and video.
›Why are credits such large numbers?
Because the underlying costs are tiny and inconsistent.
A short text call is fractions of a cent. A long video generation can be dollars.
Credits are the unit that lets MACHYN price everything consistently, from small text to heavy video, without micro transactions.
›Why not charge per generation directly?
Different providers bill differently: tokens, seconds, frames, images, passes.
Credits normalize that into one ledger and one balance.
It keeps your billing predictable and your pipeline stable.
›Do credits expire?
No. Credits do not expire.
Monthly credits and top ups stay on your account until you use them.
›Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel whenever you want.
Your subscription stays active until the end of the current term.
No refunds.
›Do you offer refunds?
No refunds.
If you are unsure, start with the $10 Intro plan to test.
Support
›Where do I get help?
Start with the public Support page.
If you are a customer, in app Support is the fastest path.
›Do you provide email support?
No general product support by email.
Email is billing and account access only.
For product help, use in app Support or Discord.
›Where do I report a bug?
Inside the app.
Bug reports submitted inside MACHYN include the context needed to act fast.
›Where do I go to get better at this, stay current, and connect with other filmmakers?
The MACHYN Discord.
Workflow tips, model updates, what people are shipping, what is not working yet. Filmmakers who are actually using the pipeline, not just reading about it.
New features land there first. So do the workarounds. If you are serious about the craft and the tool, that is where you should be.
